From an early age Rebecca Boyd Defina has been drawn to art, starting with up-side-down illustrations of people at the age of three. Never one to colour inside the lines, she persued her artistic endevours throughout her school years & through to adulthood.
Studying at Wollongong university, surrounded by other artists, fed her artistic spirit & she graduated her Bachelor of Creative & Graduate Diploma in Education (art) with distinctions. Majoring in Painting, her infatuation with inks & acrylics has lead her through many artistic styles, from figurative works, to abstracts & everything in between.
Deeply passionate about the art of tattoo, her recent works are imbued with strong decorative symbols in ink & bold colours. Her love of the decorative arts centre on various themes, such as Mexican Folk art, Body art, Rockabilly Kitsch symbols & the movement of "Lowbrow" art or Pop Surrealism.
An exhibition is next on the list according to Rebecca who would love to be more a part of the artistic community in her home town of Ulladulla, NSW.
"I love what i produce artistically & want others to enjoy it for themselves."
